In this life I go through many seasons of the soul. Sometimes my walk with God feels effortless and steady, while other times I’m fighting to keep my heart in the right place. For the most part I am not able to predict how I will be feeling from day to day. In fact, the only thing I can really count on is that my heart is subject to constant change. With this in mind I’m thankful for the promises of God which refer to His unchanging nature. One of my very favorite chapters in the Bible is Psalm 46. The first verse says: “God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.” Whatever my season of the soul, whatever circumstances I find myself in, God is there with me in the present. He knows exactly what is needed to bring me from one step to the next. He carries me “from faith to faith.” Like links on a chain, God is stringing together a story of His marvelous faithfulness in my life, which I may only see in hindsight.

“If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself” (-2 Timothy 2:13).

“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (-Hebrews 4:16)
